| City of London has come up with a new Global Financial Centres Index comparing the competitiveness between 46 of the world’s financial centres. The top three shows London (1st place) and New York (2nd place) as the only two truly global financial centres followed by Hong Kong (3rd place) which has been rated as a thriving regional centre and a real contender to become a genuinely global financial centre. The British Virgin Islands has also attained a creditable achievement – it has maintained its 29th place, claiming that BVI is committed to doing what is needed to meet international standarts, concerns and expectations while remaining competitive. |
