HSBC awarded top banking brand title for a third time 02/02/10 | | The rating «Banking Brands» is constituted by journal The Banker and consulting company Brand Finance and published annually since 1996. For the third time in a row the British bank HSBC takes first place in the list of 500 leading bank brands, which brand experts have evaluated in $28.5 billion. Bank of America takes the second place. The third place is taken by Spanish Santander. A significant factor in the growth of the Spanish brand value has been the consolidation of Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley brands. The total cost of world bank brands in 2009 has constituted $ 716 billion, having increased for a year by 49 % and having exceeded pre-crisis level of 2008 on 4 %. | |  |
