On the guard of the Caribbean offshores 21/04/09 | | The prime minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis has declared intention to defend the offshore financial centres of the Caribbean region at the Fifth Summit of both America on April 17th in Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad and Tobago. He has explained, how much these centres are important for the Caribbean economy and noted, that Saint Kitts, Nevis and also other Caribbean offshore financial jurisdictions, already negotiate with the several countries under agreements on an exchange of the tax information and would like them to be treated not as ‘tax heavens’, but as important jurisdictions, practicing low tax policy within the limits of structure of corresponding tax agreements with other countries. | | |
